“When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?” John 5:6 KJV

The Greek word for whole is sozo, but is unfortunately translated often in English as “healed”, or “saved”, rather than it’s true meaning, “made whole”.  As we talked about in the study, being saved and healed is essentially the same thing (eg. Jesus healing the paralytic man let down through the roof), and understanding the word sozo supercharges it’s meaning.

We are told that in the mouth of 2-3 witnesses, shall every word be established (2 Cor 13:1) but in John Chapter 5: 31-47, Jesus provides FIVE witnesses of Himself:

v32-35 John the Baptist “And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.” John 1:34 KJV

v36 The Miracles/Works “If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him” John 10: 37-38

v37-38 The Father Himself “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22 KJV
