Major topics from this week’s study were the Jews rejection of Jesus, but how God raises Jesus from the dead and makes Him the cornerstone of his new Heavenly Jerusalem (as opposed to earthly Jerusalem). Remember in John 3 when Jesus says to Nicodemus, how can you understand heavenly things, if you can’t understand earthly things? (paraphrase). There is a recurring theme in the Bible of how the physical, which is first and inferior, is only a type and shadow of the spiritual, which is later and superior (eg. Ishmael vs Isaac, Adam vs Jesus, temple sacrifices vs Jesus’ sacrifice, physical Israel vs. spiritual Israel [Israel=overcomer])
Acts 4: 8-12
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people,
9 if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,
10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by [this name this man stands here before you in good health. 11 “He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE.
12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”
The cornerstone is the critical foundation on which the rest of a structure is dependant on. This is a metaphor, for how Jesus is foundational for our Salvation. We talked about how the term “Judeo-Christianity” is an oxymoron, because you either believe Jesus is the Messiah or you do not.
The other topic that came up is the Mandela Effect, as Acts 4, verses 27 and 30 have been corrupted by same. Whether you’ve heard of the Mandela Effect or not, I’ll leave it to you to explore the study for greater detail. The Body of Christ is amazingly unaware of what the enemy is capable of. Through CERN, Satan is directly attacking memory, experience and reality, without most people even knowing. Here’s some background links to start, and there’s some highly recommended links in the Bible study to research further.
